Burrow: Access Archive Project

26 Nov 2010 to 14 Jan 2011

Closing Reception Friday, January 14 8PM

In anticipation of our 20th anniversary, Access is focusing on an archival research project led by its staff and interns. Over the course of the exhibition, the gallery will be transformed into a space to unpack and present its archive in order to assess and expand its contents. The installation will evolve throughout the exhibition as previous Access artists, directors, board members, and patrons will be contacted and invited to contribute to the archive by sharing their own documentation, artifacts, and ephemera. For the duration of the show, Access will be highlighting previous exhibitions and projects on its website as well as social networking sites in an attempt to incite dialogue and connections between the community and the organization’s history. Burrow is the first of a four-part investigation of Access’ history in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

Access Gallery gratefully acknowledges the Canada Council for the Arts, BC Arts Council, City of Vancouver, our members and volunteers. Access is a member of the Pacific Association of Artist Run Centres.
