Manuela Lalic, President’s Temptation, January 13 – February 17, 2007, Opening January 12, 2007 at 8 pm at Access.
Manuela Lalic’s installation is a social caricature where cultural indices meet: boxes of couscous present the eyes of a veiled woman and her advertising marketing. President’s Choice bottles of ketchup and mayonnaise are organized in a device composed of furniture and vinyl floor tiles.
Between order and disorder, the accumulation of boxes with the same veiled face form a group that locates the spectator “face to face”. On standby of an action, the installation “President’s Temptations” questions the place of the individual against the idea of a state of emergency or unconcern.
