Annual Auction Fundraiser | workhorse, show pony

ON VIEW 21 to 23 November from 12 to 5pm

workhorse, show pony is an energetic celebration of hardworking and dynamic artist-run culture! This year’s fundraising auction features a range of fantastic work generously donated by over 50 emerging and established artists including Vanessa Brown, David Khang, Guadalupe Martinez, Ramey Newell, and Christian Nicolay. Jonathan Middleton and drag queen Anne Xiety take the reins as MC and auctioneer while DJs Ron Tran and Rebecca Brewer drive the dancing. As is tradition, expect a mystery artist whose identity will only be revealed through bidding. The generosity of members, donors, and friends like you continue to make it possible for the gallery to support compelling and critically engaged emergent practices. Show up in your ribbons and tack to Access’ most important fundraiser of the year!

Accessibility Notes

There is an 8cm (3.5 in) lip at the entrance to the gallery. We plan to have a portable ramp for the exterior entrance in time for this event, and can assist with the 112cm (44 in) sliding door. The self-contained gender neutral washroom is not wheelchair accessible. Access is within 120m of major transit routes (#3, 8, 19, 22), and the nearest Skytrain stops are Main Street-Science World (650m) and Stadium-Chinatown Skytrain (800m). Detailed transit information is available by request. There is limited metered street parking and a parking garage on East Georgia.
