You are invited to the 2011 Access Art Auction fundraiser! Please join us on Friday, February 18th for Total Eclipse of the Art, a memorable fundraising event that promises to be full of 80s style glamour. The auction this year features over 36 works of art from local and internationally renowned artists. A limited edition of thirty signed posters by Sobey-nominated artist Brendan Fernandes will also be available at the event. Total Eclipse of the Art will feature live and silent auctions and raffle prizes, and the evening will culminate in the auctioning off of a 1976 Chevy Malibu Classic with special artist add-ons! Following the auction festivities will be a retro dance party with all of your favourite 80s hits.

Proceeds from the event will help support Access' operations and programming. Access is uniquely committed to fostering critical and emerging creative practices, and the support of members and donors over the past twenty years have made it possible for the gallery to present a diverse range of locally and internationally renowned exhibitions and programming. Help us to continue to provide the Vancouver arts community with an inclusive space for the presentation of some of the most compelling and engaging practices this city has to offer!

A cherished Vancouver icon: Amy Nugent's 1976 Chevy Malibu Classic with special artist add-ons!

Details: 83,000 miles. Second owner. Four-door. White with blue interior. 350, V-8 engine. Stacked quad headlights and crosshatched grille. Automatic transmission. Original window glass in excellent condition. New belts, battery, back brakes, indicator and alternator. Aircared. Runs great.

The car features a new driver's manual designed by Michael Cadamia with an accompanying mixed tape to the manual by Jeff Khonsary to be played on the SONY "Radio Cassette-Corder CFM-10" that comes with the car, and two God's Eyes on the rearview mirror and a Tektite Power Crystal in the ashtray by Heidi Nagtegaal. Helen Reed, Hannah Jickling and Jen Kovach have designed a pizza crust keychain. The Malibu will be auctioned off during the live auction at 10:30pm.
