PARCEL - Public Call for Pitches

PARCEL

noun —  gift, portion of land, fragment of a whole, a collection, a bundle
verb — wrap, divide

Access Gallery is putting together a standalone publication, PARCEL, which seeks to better understand its own positioning as a centre of cultural production and dissemination at the nexus of multiple stories/histories, neighbourhoods, and waterways. This location is steeped in stories of convergence and displacement, colonial impositions, gentrification, and importantly, ongoing acts of resistance, joy, and care.

What does it mean to invite and host art within the area where Access resides? Access invites reflective daydreams of (critical) possibility. How can we embody multiple truths and histories, moving to facilitate, prompt, and superimpose generative futures, cultivating connection and collaboration with land and each other?
