Goodbye Catherine!

On behalf of Access Gallery, I'd like to wish the best of luck to Catherine de Montreuil as she leaves her role as Projects Coordinator. Since beginning at Access in January 2017, Catherine has shown generous dedication to the stability of the organization, and to the rigour of our programming. Her organizational knowledge helped to guide our collective work through a period of transition between Kimberly Phillips and I as Director/Curators. Just prior to my arrival, Access underwent a renovation which resulted in the development of a new space, PLOT. I've had the privilege to work with Catherine in this time to imagine and develop what PLOT can be as a space and programming structure, and feel fortunate to have shared in these conversations with her. Her support in two of Access' annual fundraising auctions workhorse, show pony and Pivots & Spins, as well as numerous exhibition installations has been crucial to their success. During her time with Access, Catherine designed three publications—Some Spontaneous Particulars, found/held, and Miss Solitude—and will act as designer for our next publication, CRITICAL BOOCH to be produced as part of Fermenting Feminism in September 2019. The depth of her thinking and influence of her laughter will be much missed here at the gallery, but I know she'll continue to be an important part of our community. Please join me and the Board members and staff of Access join me in wishing her the best in her future endeavours—as an artist, cultural worker, writer, gardener, and friend.
